My aim
in this talk is to first motivate a
reading of Frege which aligns him with Hermann Cohen’s Marburgschool of
Neo-Kantianism.I then introduce a recent argument by Lanier
Anderson, which claims that Frege’s critique of psychologism
shows that he
cannot be so aligned.I counter this
claim by arguing that Frege’s notion of objectivity and his
critique of
psychologism are much closer to the orthodox neo-Kantian position than
Anderson
seems to suggest.
