This is the first course in the basic logic sequence
(continuing with an "Introduction to Symbolic Logic" and an
"Introduction to Inductive Logic") that satisfies the
mathematics/symbolic systems requirement. It covers the fundamentals of
both symbolic logic (by discussing, among other things, the truth-table
and the truth-tree methods for propositional logic) and inductive logic
(by introducing the basic concepts of the probability calculus).
