Recently, there has been a tendency to discuss issues of
justice and fairness in general, and public policy in particular, using
economic terms such as market forces. In this class, we will
examine how economic theory and economic rationality are related to
philosophical questions of social interaction and ethical reasoning.
Then we will examine how contemporary economic theory influences our
current ethical reasoning on such issues as justice, fairness, and
rights.
