My mother is Kathleen, whose mother is Eleanor, who hails from Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, and now Collingswood, New Jersey.

I am Kent, son of Thomas, son of Vandel, son of Charles, son of Axel, who moved to Centerfield, South Dakota from Norway.

As a graduate student, my main teachers were Kirk Ludwig, Greg Ray, Ernie Lepore, and Bob Matthews. They have helped me clarify much of my thinking about human languages and the mind. All remaining errors in my work are their responsibility.
